Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most from international travellers. For anything else, our team is a message away.
Booking & Planning
How does the booking process work?
Start by submitting an enquiry through our trip planner or any package page. A travel expert will confirm availability, walk through inclusions and customisation options, and share final costings before you commit. Please confirm exact booking and payment terms with your travel expert at the time of booking.
Can itineraries be customised?
Yes. Every package on our site is a starting point — durations, hotel categories, cities and activities can typically be adjusted to suit your preferences, timeline and budget.
How far in advance should I book?
For popular periods (October–March, and Indian festival dates) we recommend enquiring at least 6–8 weeks ahead where possible, though we regularly assist with shorter-notice travel too.
Payments & Pricing
How is pricing displayed on this site?
Prices are shown as a starting price per person, based on double occupancy, and are automatically converted into an indicative currency based on your location — you can change this anytime using the currency selector. Final pricing is confirmed by your travel expert based on your specific dates, hotel category and any customisation.
What payment methods are accepted?
Accepted payment methods vary by booking and will be confirmed by your travel expert — please treat any payment instructions received outside official Embassy Hospitality channels with caution.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation and refund terms depend on the specific hotels, transport and activities booked, since many of these carry their own supplier policies. Your travel expert will confirm the exact cancellation terms that apply to your booking before you pay any deposit.
Visas & Travel to India
Do I need a visa to visit India?
Most international travellers require a visa to enter India, commonly arranged through the Indian government's e-Visa system or a local embassy/consulate. Requirements vary by nationality and purpose of travel (tourist or medical), so please confirm the current requirements for your passport with the relevant Indian mission or e-Visa portal.
What is the best time of year to visit India?
It depends on where you're headed — broadly, October to March is a comfortable window for most of North and Central India, while Kerala and the hill stations can be pleasant slightly outside that range too. Your travel expert can advise based on your specific itinerary.
Is India safe for international travellers?
India is visited by millions of international travellers every year. As with any destination, we recommend standard travel precautions, comprehensive travel insurance, and staying in touch with your travel expert throughout your trip.
Medical Travel
What is medical travel assistance?
It’s the coordination of hospital appointments, travel and hospitality around a medical visit to India — not medical treatment itself. See our Medical Travel Assistance page for the full journey and services involved.
Can Embassy Hospitality tell me what my treatment will cost?
No — treatment pricing, diagnosis and outcomes are determined solely by the hospital or specialist you consult, not by Embassy Hospitality. We can help you get in touch with hospitals so you can receive an estimate directly from them.
Currency & Pricing Display
Why is my currency shown automatically?
We use an approximate, IP-based estimate of your country to default the displayed currency for convenience. You can change it anytime using the currency selector in the navigation or footer — see our Privacy Policy for details.
Are converted prices exact?
Converted prices are indicative and may vary slightly with exchange rate fluctuations. Final invoicing is confirmed by your travel expert.
